jAqua® Hydrophilic Lubricious Coating

Hydrophilic Coating

Product presentation

Hydrophilic coating adsorbs and preserves moisture, significantly reducing the friction resistance of medical device surfaces, making it easier for catheters to slide along blood vessels, and avoid serious abrasion between the device surface and the tissue or blood vessel wall for optimal performance of the device.

Core advantages

 Excellent lubricating effect

jAqua™ hydrophilic lubricious coating retains its integrity and lubricity after more than 50 rounds of friction test. With the coating polymer matrix bonding dynamically with the surrounding water molecules, and the biocompatible hydrophilic polymer stably cross-linked with the support network, the well-anchored coating material becomes lubricated and hydrophilic when it comes into contact with water or body fluids.

 Advanced technical support

jMedtech has a range of proprietary hydrophilic lubricious coating formulations and advanced UV curing technologies, to create customizable coating lubricity, firmness and thickness . Our products are not only applied to widely-used plastic tubes but are also used in a variety of difficult-to-apply materials, including: polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), fluoride propylene (FEP), polyimide (PI), silicone elastomer, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), metals and so on.

 Outstanding performance

  • Formulation safety - good biocompatibility. Using PVP as the substrate, the product has been verified for safety and stability in clinical applications.

  •  Perfect balance of lubricity and durability – The coating strikes a balance between lubricity and durability, whereby the balance is achieved by parameter adjustment.

  • Low-particulate release – While maintaining lubricity and stability, the products maintain its advantage of minimal leaching.

  • Flexibility – The coating can withstand bending or use in torturous paths without cracking or delaminating.

  • Sterilization Method – The product can be sterilized with ethylene oxide (EO) and electron beams.

  • Metal guide wire- mainly used for interventional treatment of peripheral arterial disease and cardiovascular disease. Common materials are stainless steel and/or nickel-titanium alloy.
